Vaccinations

Our medical care is tailored to your individual pet and this includes vaccinations. A good vaccine protocol considers an individual’s health, risk of exposure in Davis and potential travel destinations.  We discuss vaccines and your pet’s environment during the annual physical examination; with this information, we decide upon an appropriate vaccine schedule to prevent serious viral or bacterial diseases.  As new diseases emerge, there are novel vaccines available for your pet; we continuously update our knowledge and recommendations as disease risks evolve over time.  We are enthusiastic about new vaccine technology that decreases risk of vaccine reactions; we are skeptical of new vaccines for diseases that may not warrant vaccination.
